Below are some abbreviations that may seem unfamiliar to you. It is common for SI to call something by one name, have it appear differently on a scan tool only to have the parts literature call it by another name! SI has some abbreviations under the General Information tab but they don't have them all, so here are a few extras and what they mean. As more come out they will be added to the list.

| PZM | Platform Zone Module ( a form of BCM- now called a Dash Integration Module |
| SBM | Another form of BCM the actual letters are unknown what they stand for |
| IPM | Instrument Panel Module- Really another way of saying HVAC Module although it does handle some lighting functions as well |
| ACM/HCM | HVAC Module |
| ESC | Electronic Suspension Control Module |
| RTD | Real Time Dampening (Electronic Suspension Control) |
| CVRSS | Constantly Variable Road Sensing Suspension (Electronic Suspension Control) |
| RSS | Same as CVRSS |
| VSES | Vehicle Stability Enhancement Systems (Active Brake Control) |
| Active Handling and Stabilitrack | Same as VSES |
| CRVTD | Constantly Variable Real Time Dampening |
| IRC | Integrated Radio Controller (Radio) |
| RIM | Rear Integration Module (Another form of BCM that handles functions for the rear of the vehicle) |
| RKE | Remote Keyless Entry |
| RFA | Remote Function Actuator (Keyless Entry) |
| RCDLR | Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (Keyless Entry) |
| DDM | Drivers Door Module |
| PDM | Passenger Door Module |
| RDM | Rear Door Module |
| LGM | Lift Gate Module |
| CDX | DVD Player |
| RCC | Rear Climate Control |
| RPA or URPA | Ultrasonic Park Assist. |
| LGM or LGCM | Lift Gate Control Module |
| FICM | Fuel Injector Control Module (Duramax) |
| TPM | Tire Pressure Monitoring |
